ご挨拶：2016年もよろしくお願いします

あけましておめでとうございます。こちらのブログは暫くの間更新できておりませんでしたが、新しい年を迎えるということで気分一新再スタートしたいと思います。改めてどうぞよろしくお願いします。

2015年を振り返ると、いろいろな模索もありつつ、大きな変化が訪れた1年でした。いくつかご報告をさせていただきますね。

2015年10月から米国ニューヨーク拠点を置くMeetup(ミートアップ）社の日本におけるコミュニティマネージャーとして、Meetupの日本での認知度向上、利用者拡大を担うため、正式に勤務することになりました。2003年5月にMeeetupに登録して以来、利用回数はそこまで多くはないもののニューヨークやサンフランシスコを訪れる時に参加してかけがえのない出会いを得ることができたり、またコンセプトとしての地域コミュニティを活性化を支援するサービスやビジョンにとても共感していたサービスです。何度となくブログや記事でご紹介してきた経緯があり、また何年も前から「こんなサービスが日本にもあればいいのに！」と強く願い、CEOにも日本語化を、と過去に会った際にリクエストしていたサービスでした。そんな折、ちょうど2015年春に日本語化の予定があることを知らされ、夏の間初めてのローカリゼーションの作業を業務委託として取り組んだことがきっかけでした。その後、10月以降は正式にコミュニティマネージャーというタイトルで日本での認知向上のための活動をメインに今は活動しています（引き続き株式会社ソーシャルカンパニーは存続しており、今までにご縁を頂いていたいくつかのプロジェクトの支援も引き続き取り組ませていただいております）。

昨年の春にはちょうどMeetup関連の出張と併せてニューヨークで開催されていたいくつかのカンファレンスに参加したことも大きな出来事でした。1つはシビックテックとよばれるテクノロジーを活用した行政・政治・市民参画に関するカンファレンス、「パーソナル・デモクラシー・フォーラム」に昨年は3回目の参加をすることができました。もう1つは同時期に開催されたコミュニティを運営するプロフェッショナルのためのカンファレンス、「CMXサミット」に参加することで、広がりつつあるビジネスとしてのコミュニティの活性化・運営支援というテーマに具体的に触れることができました。その他にも9月にはロスアンジェルスで開催された「オンライン・ニュース・アソシエーション」に参加する機会を頂き、デジタルとジャーナリズムの最前線で活躍している世界中のプロフェッショナルに触れることで、デジタルメディアが現在直面していること、今後の可能性を大きく感じるきっかけを得る事ができました。

今後はMeetupの活動を中心にしつつも、今まで大切にしてきた「グローバル」「デジタル」「メディア」「コミュニティ」「シビックテック」「ソーシャルグッド」などのトレンドを引き続き追いかけつつ、具体的なインパクトを生み出すためのリアルでローカルな”コミュニティ”支援の視点を大切にしながら、身の回りや社会の課題解決に取り組んでいけたらと思っています。この1月も早速いくつかのイベント、Meetupがあるのでご案内させて頂きますね。

ブログは本当に積み重ねなので、ここからでも丁寧に再スタートしたいと思っています。どうぞお付き合いください。
